Comsulting = company climate change through business consulting with an emphasis on communication of people and products / services.

Communication is THE key for your entrepreneurial (and private) success! And it's completely underrated in the corporate world. It creates so many different problems and your business will gradually go down if your messages are misinterpreted. Successful companies have clear structures and processes which are taken serious by all employees and others. And they have the secret ingredient.

Ideally, you have the right people with their appropriate activities and the best tools in the perfect places of your company. If everything is balanced out perfectly, they create a healthy company climate and such sweet products that you just can’t get enough of them.

But if you have difficulties or want to aim REALLY high, Comsulting fosters your communication of employees (incl. general management and other executives), customers, partners, services or products.

I support ambitious companies to develop constructive communication concepts with which your business will flow (again) and sustainably shine. Highly specialized. No standardized run-of-the-mill approaches with which you’ll also only gain mediocre results!

Yes, we will get there easily, but money should never be your single most important goal but a side product of good business because you have no more drive to develop if you stop at your financial goals 😉 And if you now think that simply raising your financial goals to motivate you is ok, you just showed that you have the attitude of a junky - please go to rehab first, then come back!

What is COMMUNICATION and which FORMS has it?

Communication derives from the Latin word communicatio (“message”) and refers to the exchange of information. Communication takes place in three dimensions:

  • with people + tech + nature (for practical reasons, we’ll factor out that humans are nature, too)
  • inside + outside
  • verbally + nonverbally

In one (scientific) sentence:

People, other living beings, things and activities communicate verbally and nonverbally with themselves and with others.

Biotic and abiotic things communicate verbally and nonverbally with their inner and outer world.

For companies, these two areas of communication are the most relevant:

  • communication of + with people
  • communication of + with products / services
  • communication of + with space

Communication of PEOPLE

People communicate with themselves and other entities (people, things and activities). This kind of communication reaches from a simple conversation to complex phenomena like burnout or quiet quitting.

INTERPERSONAL communication

(Non-) verbal communication of people is a classic and the first thing most people will think of when asked what communication is. It includes for example

  • verbal and nonverbal conflicts from small disputes to mobbing
  • prospecting, customer loyalty / satisfaction / service etc.
  • dealing with potential business partners or competitors
  • recruiting, employee loyalty / potential (of skills)
  • transformation, crisis management
  • state of illness, fluctuation etc.
  • diversity, inclusion
  • team building

Communication with our OUTER ENVIRONMENT

The un-human outer world is as important for people as their inner world (body & soul) because it provides the framework in which body & soul can prosper or suffer. In includes for example

  • journey ways or times to and from work (e.g. remote work, company car)
  • availability and application of analogue and digital tools
  • configuring working and leisure times
  • configuring buildings / offices
  • job safety

Communication of PRODUCTS

Products & services are your lure customers take. They can be divided into two categories:

  • Development
  • Marketing

Some basic rules always apply:

  • Strong marketing can also sell bad products (not with me!!!) while really good products cannot be seen or even go under through weak marketing.
  • On the other hand, high quality products sell themselves a lot easier and especially more sustainably than junk which also quickly falls apart in the psyche of people.
  • Development and marketing of products also have to fit together: promising marketing of crap as well as crappy marketing of high-quality products generates conflicts in potential customers.
  • But poorly marketed high-quality products get more (2nd) chances to prove themselves as you will be pleasantly surprised.
  • Therefore, high-quality products / services are always stronger in markets - and my 1st choice in all areas of life!

You communicate through development and marketing of a product / service. In return, you gain information through the feedback they generate which now tells you something. Use it wisely.

Communication and DEVELOPMENT

Consciously & purposefully communicating with the development of products - particularly design - is the epitome of the communication of products! Especially as design and function often have opposing requirements (the same goes for services, too, btw).

But if you achieve it, you create magic: basalt columns, cumulus clouds, butterflies, mushrooms, Rolls Royce or Monica Belucci are beautiful examples.

And if you do it properly, there's nearly no need for intense marketing.

Communication and MARKETING

Marketing is communication and contains these questions amongst others:

  • How clearly do you communicate the message of your products?
  • Which people (target audience) do you reach in doing so?
  • Are these the ones you really want to appeal to?
  • Do you achieve it the way you do it?
  • Does your corporate identity (CI) incl. corporate design (CD) suit your (company’s) personality and products?
  • Are CI and CD consistent throughout all of your channels (website, advertisement, appearance of employees at events etc.)?

The finest art of marketing is “quiet” marketing: your reputation. The reputation of a company results from the combination of:

  • Quality + price of products / services
  • Quality + intensity of marketing
  • Quality of working conditions
  • over time frame X

A good reputation of a company comes from outstanding products at appropriate prices and phenomenal working conditions over relatively long periods of time, while this high standard should remain as persistent as possible. Good marketing of products and working conditions complete everything.

Communication of SPACE

Communication needs scope.

The layout of space has essential influence on HOW we (are able to) communicate and is especially important in these three scales, at least for our considerations:

  • offices and other smaller rooms
  • firm buildings
  • public spaces like parks

The question is how we can shape our outer environment in order to have the best impact for humans (employees etc.), corporate goals and ecological demands.

This is organizational psychology at its best - and one of my big entrepreneurial passions, esp. when paired with geography!

Small spaces

Are the easiest to transform but have the biggest limitations because you simply can’t just realign a whole corridor or elevator. Some examples:

  • How you align windows allows / impairs circulation - a breath of fresh air is important for development!
  • Indoor plants (and cats 😁) liven a place up - their care, too, is a mirror of your company climate.
  • If employees can’t quickly find and properly arrange working tools, it will frustrate them and slow down working processes and your efficiency, respectively.
  • Are employees able to eat in an in-house kitchen or do they have to walk 15 minutes each way to get to one?

Midsize spaces

Developing firm buildings is a lot more demanding than designing single rooms but offers much more and more exciting opportunities.

Converting firm buildings is particularly tantalizing when you move into a building which is rich in history.

A new construction offers nearly all opportunities, but you have to consider two aspects:

  • location
  • building itself

Location is often dictated by strategy. Depending on the company, important location factors are:

  • logistics - traffic junctions offer efficient ways of transportation and communication - for employees, too
  • logistics - business parks foster synergy effects with other enterprises located there (suppliers etc.)
  • closeness to nature - better conditions for employees

The architectural development of a firm building offers the most design opportunities for the psychic and physical conditions of employees, customers, partners etc. I’m sure you can imagine how big the following factors (and more) impact your company climate as well as your un-human turnover:

  • energy efficiency
  • high vs. low ceiling
  • big vs. small rooms
  • long vs. short corridors
  • naked or beautiful walls (stucco, baby!)
  • openness of rooms - glas vs. concrete walls
  • temperature of building fabric - ferroconcrete vs. wood + color
  • stairs vs. elevator - functioning or not (same goes for doors etc.)

Large spaces

Parks increase the quality of living and working and apply to:

  • green areas of your company site and building
  • landscape parks
  • city parks

Depending how you design a park, what’s important to you for the people you address and also stimulate the communication of certain topics, e.g. narrow, short paths foster concentrating on current things vs. an open environment fosters foresightedness and circumspection.

2. Getting ACQUAINTED

Our free consultation always takes place via video call which connects nicer and enables us to better evaluate the chemistry between us.

We discuss your situation which will automatically generate everything else:

  • Where are you right now and which problems do you have?
  • Where are you coming from and what’s your development?
  • What are your goals?

I can already give you a rough direction how you can reach those goals with the gained information.

You’ll also learn how I will proceed, what’s necessary and how long execution will approximately take.

That’s why our conversation takes as long as it takes.

3. EXECUTION

Depending on the problem, it takes different approaches. My operation usually looks like this:

  • I cater extremely individually and flexibly to your problems, employees (incl. general management) and your company’s DNA.
  • As sustainably as possible - which, to me, mainly means efficient processes and structures with a refreshing inner and outer image.
  • Personal visits are always possible and sometimes even necessary, but I can also achieve a lot from a great distance for you (video call, phone, Email).

You also benefit from my high leadership qualities which we can easily implement if needed (see below). Be it right from the start or at a later time.

Executive seminars (optional)

The biggest advantage for you in this case is that I can align my executive seminars even more individually to your company’s structures, processes and philosophy. It does make quite a difference getting to know a company only through online research and a relatively short phone call or through practical experiences 😉
