Communication derives from the Latin word communicatio (“message”) and refers to the exchange of information. Communication takes place in three dimensions:

People, other living beings, things and activities communicate verbally and nonverbally with themselves and with others.
Biotic and abiotic things communicate verbally and nonverbally with their inner and outer world.
For companies, these two areas of communication are the most relevant:
People communicate with themselves and other entities (people, things and activities). This kind of communication reaches from a simple conversation to complex phenomena like burnout or quiet quitting.
(Non-) verbal communication of people is a classic and the first thing most people will think of when asked what communication is. It includes for example

Consciously & purposefully communicating with the development of products - particularly design - is the epitome of the communication of products! Especially as design and function often have opposing requirements (the same goes for services, too, btw).
But if you achieve it, you create magic: basalt columns, cumulus clouds, butterflies, mushrooms, Rolls Royce or Monica Belucci are beautiful examples.
And if you do it properly, there's nearly no need for intense marketing.
